Hertz Italia and Targa Telematics: a strong partnership for the application of IoT to digital fleet management solutions.

In 2019, Hertz Italia, thanks to Targa Telematics‘ digital Fleet Management solutions, recorded a significant increase in the recovery rate of stolen fleet vehicles. In the first few months of 2020 this rate reached a 95%.

These results represent the effectiveness of the partnership signed in Italy between the leading American car rental operator and Targa Telematics, which has been providing Hertz with the technological platform for the management of its fleet for 5 years.

A Stolen Vehicle Recovery solution enhanced by the application of IoT developed on devices that make massive and specific use of machine learning based on big data analysis.

It should be noted that this partnership, signed in 2015, in addition to the value represented by the progressive increase in the recovery rate of stolen vehicles over the years, has allowed Hertz Italia to significantly optimise fleet management operations and insurance costs incurred, generating a return on investment (ROI) in 2019 of 70%.
