Mobility and Covid-19: April 2021 saw an increase of 63% compared to 2020.

Following the easing of restrictions of Draghi’s government in April 2021, mobility has resumed in Italy. This phenomenon can be clearly seen by the data provided by  car circulation, belonging to company fleets or long-term rental for private use.

In April 2021, there was an increase of 63% compared to exactly one year ago. This trend was also confirmed in May 2021, where mobility increased by 44% compared to May 2020.

This data emerged from the analysis of the special Observatory of Targa Telematics, a tech company specialized in the development of digital solutions in the field of telematics, smart mobility, and IoT platforms for mobility operators, which monitors over half a million assets.

Growth also continued in June 2021 (+6% vs June 2020), although to a significantly lesser extent. This took into account that in summer 2020, Italy had returned to a situation of substantial normality without any restrictions.
