Collaboration confirmed with 4 athletes who will take to the ski runs in the different specialties.  Moreover, from this year, the technology of Targa Telematics will be used by FISI for the effective and efficient management of the staff and athletes’ movements on the ski runs.

The Alpine Ski World Cup for the 2020/2021 season will kick off on October 17 in Sölden, Austria. Once again this year, Targa Telematics has confirmed its collaboration with four champions engaged in different specialties, which will therefore create an international team with its brand: Alice Robinson, Emanuele Buzzi, River Radamus and Renè De Silvestro.

For several years now, Targa Telematics has been close to the world of sport, in particular alpine skiing, in which the company sees the positive values that make it possible to face and win any challenge: in life just as in sport or work.

From this year, Targa Telematics is also expanding its long-standing collaboration with FISI – Italian Winter Sports Federation. The company is no longer just a sponsor of the various competitions, but has decided to make its know-how and its fleet management solution available to the organizers in order to ensure utmost efficiency in movements on the ski runs of all athletes and their staff.

More specifically, Targa Telematics has equipped the vehicles involved in the white circus with IoT (Internet of Things) technology to monitor their movements and plan the most effective and efficient coverage of the trips, optimizing their routes.

The Targa Telematics team of athletes consists of four very talented champions who can really aspire to excellent results in the upcoming season.

Alice Robinson, very young New Zealand champion competing in Giant and Super-G, the nineteen-year-old has already taken part in the Olympics in 2018 and, among others, won the junior World Championships in 2019.   The promising world skiing athlete, coached by former Lindsey Vonn coach Chris Knight, confirmed her extraordinary potential in the 2019/2020 World Cup season where she obtained two stunning Giant Slalom victories on the Rettenbach Glacier in Sölden, Austria and Kranjska Gora, Slovenia.

Emanuele Buzzi, fa longstanding member of the elite of fast disciplines, at 25 years old he is already an experienced athlete, having won the 2016 Super-G European Cup and having participated in the Olympics in Pyeongchang in 2018. After the serious injury in January 2019 in the finish area of the Wengen downhill in Switzerland, which had seen him achieve a brilliant sixth place, and which had forced him to prematurely stop racing, last season Emanuele obtained 4 results in the top 15 in the World Cup and achieved his best result in the Super-G with a good ninth place in Austria in Hinterstoder. Lele is back in full form and is one of the Italian skiers with the highest potential for 2020/2021.

River Radamus is the very promising American skier dedicated to Giant, Super-G and Slalom: at just twenty years of age he has an impressive series of successes at junior level, including 3 gold medals at the Winter Youth Olympic Games and the 5 medals at the Junior World Championships, 2 of which were won in 2019 in Val di Fassa. River is now expected to be the backbone of Team Targa in this World Cup season.

Renè De Silvestro is a young Paralympic athlete who, in addition to excelling in athletics, is one of the spearheads of the Italian national ski team. After taking part in the Pyeongchang Olympics and numerous placings, he achieved his first victory in the 2019/2020 World Cup in Veysonnaz and a third place in the giant slalom in Kranjska Gora.

“We are thrilled to be able to once again support this group of talented people who have chosen sport, with the great sacrifices that this entails, as an activity at the centre of their lives: practicing a sport at certain levels requires one to continually set new goals to be achieved, and to get out of one’s comfort zone every day.” said Nicola De Mattia, CEO of Targa Telematics. “The same approach that we at Targa Telematics also require of our teams, because it is only with the right amount of enthusiasm, determination and desire to overcome one’s limits that a company can make a difference”.
